Code of Conduct

We expect the best possible behaviour from all contestants as you will be representing your schools, organizations, parents, and most importantly, yourselves. How you carry yourself goes a long way to how you are able to cooperate with each other. Here is a list of behaviours that we will absolutely not be tolerated during the competition:

  • Inappropriate comments or language
  • Disrespect towards any member of the BETA team, Advisors, or team members
  • Hostility towards other competitors
  • Inappropriate imagery used in the chat, for video avatars, or in your project
  • Any unexplained absence from Mandatory events such as the opening or the final day's presentation
  • Plagiarism of any kind
  • Submission of work that is not your own

We fully expect you all to comply with these rules as we ourselves commit to them during this competition. Failure to do so will result in either you or your entire team being disqualified from the event and in extreme cases, you will be ineligible to compete in future BETA activities.

Submission Requirements

You must build your project between Friday, November 20th, 6:30 PM EST - Sunday, November 22th 1:00 PM EST. You are not allowed to work on your solution before the hacking time period begins.

  • Every team can only submit one project. Multiple submissions per team will not be allowed.

  • Every submission must fit the theme of Shift & Adapt.

  • Every submission must include a max. 5-minute long demo video showcasing the features of the project.

    • We cannot guarantee that judges will fully watch your video if they’re longer than 5 minutes.

  • Projects without a demo video will not be judged. These videos will be shown to our judges and if your project ends up winning a general category or track prize, it may be played/published on our social media channels.
